Master Trainer Workshop for Trainers Providing Skill Training – A Step Toward Empowering the Workforce

Under the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry of the Government of India’s Sankalp Project, a significant initiative was carried out to train and empower trainers in the skill development sector. From July 2nd to July 6th, 2024, a Master Trainer Workshop was organized at the Sardar Patel Bhavan, SVNIT, Surat. This workshop aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of trainers who play a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce, thus contributing to India’s vision of a skilled and self-reliant economy.

 

The workshop brought together professionals and experts from various domains of skill development, with a focus on improving training methodologies, effective communication, and creating self-employment opportunities. The program was designed to equip the trainers with advanced skills in conducting training sessions, ensuring that the knowledge imparted is both practical and sustainable for the trainees.

 

The workshop's closing ceremony was marked by an inspiring address by the chief guest, Nitin Ojha, Managing Director of Surat Prestech Pvt. Ltd. He shared valuable insights on self-employment and motivated the participants to become agents of change in their respective fields. His speech emphasized the importance of not only skill development but also fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. He introduced the mantra "Think globally, act locally," urging trainers to equip their trainees with skills that are relevant both globally and locally.

 

Special guests included Zaynulabedin Saiyed, Director of Jan Shikshan Sansthan Bharuch, and Prafullaben Surati, Director of JSS Surat. Both shared their rich experiences and offered crucial advice on skill development, entrepreneurship, and the importance of continuous learning. Their guidance encouraged the trainers to adopt innovative teaching practices and to inspire a sense of ownership and responsibility in the trainees they mentor.

 

A unique gesture was made by Arun Bahadur Chandra, who distributed saplings of various trees to the dignitaries and participants, symbolizing the growth of knowledge and skill development. This initiative was sponsored by environmentalist Darshan Solanki, highlighting the importance of sustainability alongside skill development.

 

Throughout the event, participants shared their personal experiences, providing valuable feedback on the workshop. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the trainers underscored the growing importance of skill training in today’s fast-evolving job market.

 

To recognize the efforts of all the participants, certificates were awarded by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD). In addition, mementos were presented to the guests and speakers as a token of appreciation for their contributions. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the State Coordinator, Umacharan Rajput, who expressed his gratitude to all attendees and organizers for making the workshop a success.

 

The workshop also witnessed the presence of notable figures such as D.V. Bhatt, a retired faculty member from SVNIT, Deepak Laghdir, former Regional Manager of CED, and Kishor Vaghela, President of the NYSCS Surat branch. These experts contributed valuable insights into the role of trainers in enhancing the employability of youth and promoting sustainable skill development across the region.

 

The entire closing program was seamlessly coordinated by Piyush Bhatt, a retired bank officer from SBI, whose organizational skills ensured the smooth flow of the event. The success of this workshop serves as a testament to the importance of continuous development in the skill training sector, empowering trainers to build a brighter future for the workforce. Through such initiatives, India is moving closer to achieving its goal of fostering a skilled and self-sufficient population.
