Atal Jal - Training Program for Strengthening Atal
Bhujal Yojana Implementation
The Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Jal) aims to promote
sustainable groundwater management through community participation. This
training program is designed to empower stakeholders in the Banaskantha
district of Gujarat to effectively implement the scheme.
Training Themes:
- Introduction to Atal Bhujal Yojana - Atal Jal:
A comprehensive overview of the program, its goals, key features, and the
importance of groundwater conservation.
- Need for Atal Jal Program:
Discussion on the current groundwater crisis, over-extraction challenges,
and the importance of sustainable practices to secure water for future
generations.
- Information, Education, and Communication (IEC):
Strategies for raising awareness at the village level, mobilizing
communities, and fostering a collective approach to groundwater
management.
The training program engages a diverse group of
participants, including:
- Men and Women: Active community members.
- Gram Panchayat (GP) Members: Local governance
representatives.
- Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) /
Participatory Groundwater Management (PGWM)
Members: Committees focused on water and resource management.
- Community Leaders: Influencers who can drive
change at the grassroots level.
- Farmers: Primary stakeholders in groundwater
use for irrigation.
Targeted Gram Panchayats
(GPs):
The program focuses on three key blocks in the
Banaskantha district:
- Palanpur Block: 20 Gram Panchayats
- Vadgam Block: 20 Gram Panchayats
- Dantiwada Block: 17 Gram Panchayats
Total Gram Panchayats Covered: 57
Training Logistics and
Arrangements per GP:
To ensure impactful training sessions, the
following arrangements will be made:
Trainer and Resource Person
Expenses: Professional fees for experts conducting the sessions.
Training Materials:
- Equipment, chart papers, and other materials
required at the venue.
- Hard copy reading materials for participants.
- Stationery items like pens and notepads.
- Refreshments: Tea and breakfast for attendees.
- Standees and Displays: Visual aids to enhance
learning.
- Travel and Miscellaneous
Expenses: Transportation for trainers and materials.
Total Number of Trainings:
57 Trainings will be conducted, ensuring every
targeted GP receives comprehensive support.
The training program is funded through CSR
contributions from Sahsrar Capital Pvt. Ltd., enabling capacity-building
initiatives and the successful implementation of Atal Jal in Banaskantha.
