Gramin Vikas Trust is engaged in upgradation of knowledge and building capacity of MFP gatherers with the objective of improving their livelihood by non-destructive harvesting, primary processing, value addition and marketing of MFP's. We have organized intensive training in the forest areas of Gujarat on sustainable collection, cultivation, primary processing, value addition and marketing honey, dates, timbre, babul, lemon etc. During the program, Gramin Vikas Trust knowledge sharing sessions as well.

Training was organized at Danta block level with orientation and knowledge sharing of present market scenario.

The families, parents and the siblings of the trainees wonder in the forest for gathering the forest produces and then sell the produce at the local market for a low cost. Since they cannot afford more transportation cost, they sell the quantity of forest produce at a lesser price. Many of them are also not aware of the forest produce that is available in their respective forest areas. With the help of Gramin Vikas Trust, the locals were aware of the valuable forest produces, they have become aware of the present market demand, cost of processed forest produces and are also equipped with the latest technology and information.
